Our History

The Lord led me to northwest Metropolitan Toronto to plant the Vaughan Baptist Church in the fall of 1991.  I was sent out of the Rosedale Baptist Church in Hammonton, New Jersey under Pastor David S. Kruse and sponsored into Canada by Pastor Gregory Baker of the FaithWay Baptist Church in Ajax, Ontario.

A City of Vaughan historic building was rented weekly for three years and then, by the grace of God, a church building was rented then bought on Islington Avenue.  As the Lord grew the church, a new sanctuary was added in 2005.  With the congregation voting to start a Christian school ministry, a large home next door to the property was purchased in 2013 which would be used for the school.

In 2019, the congregation voted to sell our present property and the Lord led us to the corner property at Weston Road and Teston Road.  Ironically, this is just a few blocks north of where VBC first met!  With the Lord’s help, we hope to be holding services on that site by 2022.

Presently we have about 250 who call VBC home.  God has led an amazing group of people here from many nations of the world.  These are some of the most loving, kind Christians I have ever been associated with.  We are truly a close family who genuinely love the Lord and one another.  Come, join with us, and help us minister the gospel of love and grace to this part of the GTA.

Your servant and His, Pastor Adams
